The Traveler
Travel is my life line! As a child born and raised in The Bronx, I traveled to Puerto Rico frequently during the summer with my maternal grandmother to visit family and enjoy the Caribbean beaches, Patron saint Festivals in each town (La Fiestas Patronales), visit family and friends I made during my visits. My grandmother made it a point to wake up early to explore but it was limited. As a child it was everything to me not knowing I had only seen a very small portion of my island. As an adult I was able to show my grandmother her island through my traveled eyes and she was amazed at how much I was able to show her from sites, to food, history and shops.
As a college student I took advantage of every opportunity at Buffalo State College: I studied abroad at the University of Salamanca in Spain, I became a cast member at Walt Disney World, in Orlando Florida for a summer and was a part of a cultural study in Puerto Rico. Theses experiences opened my eyes and mind to a world of new adventures, cultures, language, people and immersion you can only dream about which lead to my eagerness and ambition to learn more, read, understand other cultures and travel for pleasure and eventually I was able to incorporate an educational travel program linked to the school curriculum with middle schoolers in The Bronx.
Currently, I am trying out the media world with some of the things I love most! Come join me on my journey of laughs, knowledge and fun!
