Resort Pass

What a brilliant app for travelers if you are not staying at a location with all the amenities you may need and want! You can pay for a fee for each adult and/or child to use the amenities like the pool. Prices vary depending on the hotel/resorts amenities, so read carefully.

We choose a day at the Fairmount, El San Juan Hotel, at 6063 Av. Isla Verde, Carolina, 00979. El San Juan Hotel has been a staple of the island since its opening on February 1, 1958 after the construction of Luis Munoz Marin International Airport in 1947 when Pan American World Airways (Pam Am) created the plan to build the hotel. I choose El San Juan Hotel as part of our itinerary because its portrayal of 50’s elegance in the lobby is a time warp of nostalgia. I thought my close friends would have an exceptional time at one of San Juans staples, as this is their first time on the island.

As you approach the grounds, you enter an exquisitely landscaped tropical rain forest with the most stunning plants and flowers like palm trees and the islands national flower, “Flor de Maga.” You are greeted with big smiles and well dressed employees who answer all and any question to their knowledge. As we walked through the divine looking Chandelier bar with this elegant wood work, we were guided to the pool area to check in for the day but since tropical storm Ernesto was approaching, Wilfredo the manager rescheduled us for another day but allowed us to use the amenities until the storm hit. The day turned out fantastic for us, it rained on and off a few times between 11-4 but sun kept coming out, trying its best to fight through the storm but a little after 4pm the rain and wind began to pour down like a waterfall.

The service was 5 stars by the pool with our waitress, Katherine and at the indoor bar, “Cana.” Katherine continued to check on us for drinks and food every 30 minutes or so. The drinks were well made and food was on point, fries were seasoned perfectly, guacamole was creamy with a hint of spice, salad was fresh and light, flat bread was tasty with ripe tomatoes and balsamic.

The casino is a hit as well, they have a variety of tables and slots to play. Odds were not to bad! At night the Chandelier Bar (lobby) is a great location to just sit, meet people and have a drink while the best salsa music is playing. If you are a night owl, Club Brava is always a hit as well, since I can remember! Club Brava is always a great crowd, drinks and a mixture of modern and classic music to dance the night away.

All service from the greeting at the main lobby to the outside beach gate was phenomenal! Even if you do not stay as an overnight guest, you must have a drink at the chandelier bar or a rum punch at the pool/beach bar!
